The teams are unhappy with the attempts of Andretti and Cadillac to join Formula 1.

According to Autosport, current competitors were unimpressed that Andretti was acting publicly and aggressively, trying to win support for his bid and lobbying in the paddock.

Teams are also concerned that Andretti is seeking public approval with the help of FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem. Relations between the FIA and F-1 at the moment are not developing in the best way.

In addition, the partnership between Andretti and Cadillac, a brand of automaker General Motors, also raises questions. The series supported the arrival of Audi, which has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Sauber (acts in F-1 as Alfa Romeo) from 2026. At the same time, the participants consider General Motors not as a full-fledged manufacturer like Audi with its engines, but as a sponsor of the Alfa Romeo level.

It is assumed that the Andretti-Cadillac team has agreed with Renault, and General Motors will brand the French engines. In the paddock, this is perceived extremely negatively: the possibility of changing the rules is being discussed in order to limit the rebranding of power plants.

This attitude is due to the fact that car companies are not going to give competitors the opportunity to advertise themselves, while not investing in the development of F-1 engines.

The rebranding technique has been used by Red Bull in recent years when the team has worked with Renault and Honda engines, supplied under the watch sponsor`s label and Red Bull Powertrains, respectively.
